March 9, 2024 by Marin Leave a Comment

Editor’s Note: Yes, there are public safety and crime issues right here in bucolic Marin County. These are just a few of the latest gleaned from cop logs by the journalists at Marin Local News.

MARIN COUNTY SHERIFF

Bad Tag: A citizen in Tam Valley complained that his cars keep getting tagged. His cars are on his private property and, please, stop tagging.

No Shirt: A guy wearing no shirt and behaving three sheets to the wind was reported in Santa Venetia. He was talking “gibberish” and periodically yelling. He also had a long pole with a chain or rope on it and he held it over his head. Deputies talked to Mr. No Shirt. He was cooperative and he was moved along.

Tam High: Threatening text messages sent from a student at Tam High were turned over to police. Service provided.

MILL VALLEY

Power Charge: A citizen called the cops on a woman who was sleeping in her car parked at an electric charging station. Her car was completely charged but she refused to leave the station. Service provided.

Pants Down: A man obviously in some kind of mental crisis, harassed a crossing guard on March 6 by pulling down his pants to his ankles and walking around with a pronounced limp like Chester on Gunsmoke. With pants down, he  displayed his lower torso for all to see, and no one did. Police arrived, told him to pull his pants up, and get in the van headed to Ritter Center.

Hit & Run: An elderly woman driver was struck by another car. The car left the scene, leaving the woman shaky from the experience. She managed to get a picture of the car leaving. Service provided.

Accordion Noise: A man played the accordion in front of a local grocery store, aggravating anti-accordion neighbors nearby. Service provided.

Scary Man With Neck Tat: A man lingered in a store for quite a while with a woman friend in a car out front. He had a neck tattoo and people called the police thinking he was suspicious. Something was about “to go down” they feared. Service provided.

Abatement: A car parked for some time in the middle of a parking lot on Miller Avenue was marked for removal.

Sex Crime: Police are investigating a claim by a 13-year-old who said incidents of a sexual nature took place at Strawberry Village. The acts were non-consensual. Report taken.

Gas Powered: A citizen called the cops on a person using a gas powered leaf blower on Throckmorton. The scoundrel and his instrument of environmental destruction was gone when police arrived.
