September 1, 2025 by Marin Leave a Comment

On June 7th, 2025, the Marin County Treasurer’s Office reported a Marin County Office of Education Account check for the amount of $15,265.80 was stolen from the mail.

Additionally, it was reported the check was deposited into an unknown bank account at a Chase Bank in San Francisco.

After a thorough investigation, it was determined Rhod Robles, a 20-year-old male from Daly City, CA, was the suspect who deposited the check. The check was quickly flagged as fraudulent by Chase Bank and the Treasurer’s Office recouped the full amount of the check. Robles was unable to withdraw the fraudulent funds before they were removed from his account by Chase Bank.

On August 28th, 2025, Detectives from the Marin County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant at Robles’ residence in Daly City where evidence from this case was recovered. Robles was booked into the Marin County Jail on several theft and fraud related charges.
