Last night, at about 9:15 p.m., Novato police dispatchers received calls about a shooting on Third Street near Grant Avenue.

Three men were confronted by two masked men in their early 20s wearing all black. One was wearing a red cross-body bag.
The suspects showed the victims knives and a gun, demanded money, and asked about the victims’ gang affiliation.
The victims attempted to run away, but one victim was struck in the head by gunfire.
The victim suffered a non-life-threatening graze wound to his head. The injured victim was transported to a local hospital, treated, and released. The other victims were shaken but unharmed.
Detectives and crime scene investigators responded to the scene and gathered evidence. The case is actively under investigation.

We ask that neighbors and businesses near Grant Avenue and Third Street check surveillance cameras for any recording which might help us investigate this incident.
