Marin 911: Boys climb trees, cat cries, driver texts

Mill Valley

Aug. 27 – Sept. 3, 2020

Kids Climbing Tree: Two boys were climbing a tree on Camino Alto. A neighbor called the police and told them he “has eyes on them” and is concerned about their safety. Gone when police arrived. 

Kids Swinging: A citizen reported eight kids swings and playing in a park on Vista Linda Drive. They were not social distancing. Police rolled and told the kids to stop having so much fun.

Beer Pong: A citizen called the police on a group of kids setting up tents on Vista Linda Drive. Caller feared the teens would be up late playing beer pong. Police checked it out and determined it was OK to tent there. As for the beer pong, well that remained to be seen.  

Nanny Share: A citizen claimed an illegal daycare operation was taking place on Miller Avenue. Police checked it out. Turns out it was a “nanny share” which is a deal where moms bring kids together “in a safe environment to get social time.” That their story and they are sticking to it.

Crying Cat: A citizen reported a cat stuck in a tree on Underhill Road. It is crying. Fire Department says it doesn’t respond to cats in trees unless 24 hours has gone by. Humane Society has the same police, but will monitor the situation. 

Mail Theft: A community mailbox on Summit was broken into and mail strewn about. 

Window Knocker: A man knocked on the window of a home on Molino Avenue. Caller believes the man is in an altered state. He was yelling bad words at anyone near him. Police caught up to the man and moved him along.

Driving & Texting: An idiot in a red Ford Ranger was seen speeding on Camino Alto while trying to text. Police were unable to find the dumb-arse social media freak. 

Vehicle Stolen: On Shelley Drive a locked vehicle was reported stolen. The vehicle had $4,000 worth of tools in it. 

Missing Girls: Two girls were reported missing from Shelter Bay Avenue. Police rolled and found the girls on the waterfront. Returns to mothers. 

Homeless Nuisance: A homeless person was wrapped in blankets and sleeping on the deck of a common area on Ashford Avenue. Police moved along the sleeper. 

BB Shooters: Three kids were target shooting with a BB gun on Wordsworth Court. It weirded out neighbors. Police told the kids to find another place to shoot. 

Thelma & Louise: Two young girls were driving like Thelma & Louise on Lovell Avenue. Swerving and running people off the road, they laughed as they did it. Police rolled but did not find them. 

Bush Woman: Do homeless people poop in the bushes. Yes they do, according to a caller who reported just such a thing on the Redwood Highway Frontage Road. Police talked to the woman, who was uncooperative and refused to show ID. 

Party Girls: A loud party was reported on Eugene Street. Police responded and found several girls celebrating at a birthday bash. It wasn’t particularly loud, police reported, but the girls promised to keep their voices down. 

Noisy: A citizen called the police about s loud-talking Muslim/Indian/Pakistani woman. Dispatcher tried to understand the nature of the complaint, but the guy got frustrated and hung up. 

Sausalito

Aug. 27 – Sept. 3, 2020

Suspicious Minds: A citizen reported two suspicious Hispanic men lurking around Booker Avenue with their faces covered with flannel shirts. Police rolled and found they were “just gardeners.”

Big Party: A big party was held on Harbor Drive with loud music, close talking and no masks. A woman approached the gathering and she was going to call the cops. When police arrived, the music was turned down and everyone was wearing a mask. Shocker. 

Puppy in Car: A citizen  reported a puppy that appeared in distress in a car parked on Bridgeway. Police rolled. Owner on scene. Police talked to the owner about the situation. 

Noisy Cycles: A resident complained to police “a couple of motorcycles” went up and down his street twice in one day. They were very noisy, he said. 

COVID Rules: A citizen told police that many restaurants are breaking the rules by serving people indoors. Police told the complainer to call the county COVID tip line.
