Marin Grand Jury releases report on changes to the Justice Center

June 28, 2024 by Marin Leave a Comment

Today, the 2023-2024 Marin County Civil Grand Jury (Grand Jury) released a report, “Marin County Justice Center: A Model for Change,” which addresses the dated and deteriorating conditions of the Marin County Jail and Juvenile Hall.

The Grand Jury recommends that the Marin County Board of Supervisors initiate a study to create a Marin Justice Center to replace Juvenile Hall and to build new facilities for low level adult offenders. The report recommends that the Marin Justice Center include additional programming space and facilities to address mental health and substance abuse disorders experienced by many of the incarcerated adults.

The report is available here.
