A one-car accident near San Jose killed a Marin teenager and injured six others.
Ali Modan, 17, a senior at Terra Linda High School, was killed in the Los Altos Hills crash on northbound I-280 near Magdalena Road. The mini-van in which he was riding left the road and into trees where it overturned. Intoxication is not suspected in the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
The driver of the van was identified as Mohammed Ismail Yacoobali, 19, of Mill Valley. Others identified by CHP were Samuel Erik Sandgren, 19, of Mill Valley; Daawood Ozair Nana, 21, of Mill Valley; and Baam Ahmed Saad, 18, Mill Valley. Other passengers were not identified because they are underage, which is CHP policy.
