Sally passed away peacefully at home on September 13, 2024, at the age of 84. She was born on September 23, 1939, in Racine, WI, to Florence and Douglas Young. At the age of 20, she moved to San Francisco and worked for TWA before transitioning to the banking industry.
There, a coworker set her up on a blind date with Edward Malouf, her “one true love.”
They married on February 24, 1962 and eventually settled in Novato, CA, where they raised three children and owned Pumperdink’s Delicatessen for 10 years.
After closing the deli, Sally became a successful realtor, known for her dedication to her clients, many of whom became lifelong friends.
Following Ed’s passing in 2016, Sally moved to Palm Desert but later returned to Novato. In April 2024, feeling a calling to return to her birthplace, she moved back to Racine, WI, where she was in the midst of home renovations and making new friends when she passed unexpectedly.
Sally is survived by 4 siblings, children Valerie and Matthew, grandchildren Heather, Marcus, Dylan (Natalie), Joseph, and Madelynn, and great-grandchildren Chase, Rafe, Jade, and Alia. She is predeceased by her husband Edward and son Marshall.
A Celebration of Life will be held on October 19, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. at Unity in Marin, 600 Palm Dr., Novato, CA.

Sally was a wonderful lady. She had a great smile and became an instant friend to everyone. I very much enjoyed the short time we had together this summer. Dick
Sarah (Sally) was my new next door neighbor in Racine, Wi. She was such an active, delightful woman. We were becoming fast friends. We found we had a lot in common. We would walk our dogs together often. We shared landscaping ideas and worked to get the best deal possible for our estimates. Sally was so easy going. I was comfortable talking with her on just about any subject. I will surely miss her. I find comfort in knowing that she is now safe in Gods hands and at peace.
My condolences to the family 🙏.
