Novato graduations still up in the air

May 15, 2020 by Marin Leave a Comment

Novato high school graduation up in the air.

The Novato Unified School District “is evaluating graduation options for seniors following Marin Public Health guidelines,” according to officials.

The statement comes after Novato High School reportedly announced plans for a graduation ceremony to take place on campus on Friday, Aug. 7. The NUSD has since said it is still too early to schedule graduation ceremonies.

“When the (NUSD) Superintendent announced that promotions and graduations MIGHT take place the week of Aug. 3, Novato High misunderstood and scheduled those events,” according to NUSD spokesperson Leslie Benjamin. “The District is currently evaluating the options for graduations and promotions as they comply with Marin Public Health guidelines. At this time, there are not scheduled graduations.”
