Ooops! Hate it when that happens

October 17, 2024 by Marin 1 Comment

Earlier today (10/15), Novato Police Officers responded to initial reports of a vehicle that collided into the side of a building at Community First Bank on Novato Blvd. Novato Fire Protection District also responded to assess any injuries.

Subsequent investigation revealed that the driver was attempting to park in a stall in front of the bank when they accidentally pressed the accelerator instead of the brake. The vehicle collided with the front of the building. No injuries were reported. The driver of the vehicle was evaluated, and impairment was not found to be a factor in this case. The bank will be closed until further notice due to structural damage.

We greatly appreciate the assistance provided by the Novato Fire Protection District. Although not a factor in this case, we want to remind our community to stay aware of their surroundings when driving, especially during the upcoming holiday season as distractions tend to increase. If you see anything suspicious, please give us a call (415-897-4361). In an emergency, call 9-1-1. Stay safe Novato!
