Sherman R. Frederick/Properly Subversive
If you have trouble sleeping because of America’s inexplicably porous border, you may want to skip today’s column. It’s only gonna make things worse for you.
Last March Rep. Tony Gonzales, the U.S. Congressman representing a district that borders Texas with Mexico, asked to see a list of illegal immigrants on ICE’s docket. He was curious as to how many criminals — or people with pending criminal charges — were being processed at the border and then released to roam freely throughout the United States.
The answer came in a late Friday afternoon information dump from ICE deputy director Patrick Lechleitner. (An old Washington trick for downplaying damning facts.)
As of July, six hundred and sixty-two hundred thousand five hundred and sixty-six illegal immigrants (662,566) are on the ICE docket.
Jumpin’ Jeezus Palomino!
Seriously, it took 6 months for the crack Biden-Harris Administration to reveal this to us. And, to admit that 60% of that number are convicted criminals and 40% face pending criminal charges.
We’re not talking about jaywalkers here, folks. Some 60,000+ were convicted of assault, 14,000+ were convicted of burglary, and 13,000+ were convicted of homicide. An additional 2,500+ have kidnapping convictions and 15,000+ have sexual-assault convictions.
See the ICE response to the congressman here.
In the meanwhile, it’s no wonder immigration is the No. 1 or No. 2 issue in this presidential election. You can’t have that many bad dudes make it through “the system” and not have huge law enforcement problems on the ground afterwards.
No other way to see it.

Thank you for writing this article.
Then we must consider the fact that more than 150 House Democrats voted against a bill that would deport illegal immigrants convicted of a sexual offense or conspiracy to commit such a crime.
The Violence Against Women by Illegal Aliens Act passed the House of Representatives along bipartisan lines on Wednesday. All present Republicans voted for the bill, as did 51 Democratic lawmakers. The measure passed 266 to 158.
Democrats have panned the bill as xenophobic.
