The Rotary Club of Ignacio has awarded $25,000 to the North Marin Community Services (NMCS) to assist the local agency in its effort to feed and house those adversely affected by the pandemic in Marin County.
Club President Barbara Hernandez and Club Foundation Chair Andrei Jigalin made the presentation to Chief Executive Officer Cheryl Paddack and Chief Financial Officer Vanshika Nachnani at their 1907 Novato Boulevard facility in Novato last week.
The money will be used for purchasing supplies for the food pantry, rental assistance and other social services so badly needed now.
“Thank you all so much for your significant contribution!” CEO Paddack said. “$25,000 will go a long way in helping Novato residents with their emergency rental and food needs during the COVID-19 crisis.”
Club President Hernandez said this contribution is just one of many area Rotary Clubs are doing for individuals and organizations on the front lines confronting the corona virus daily. She encourages others wanting to donate money, food or volunteer services to contact the North Marin Community Services agency through their web site at www.northmarincs.org.
“We all want to help our neighbors in their time of need.” Hernandez said. “Helping North Marin Community Services is a great way to help our neighbors when they need it the most.”
