April 30, 2025 by Marin Leave a Comment

On Tuesday, Willie Jessie Clinton-Jones, a 45-year-old San Rafael resident, was arrested by SRPD Officers after receiving numerous suspicious activity calls and a report that he followed a juvenile onto the campus of Davidson Middle School in San Rafael.

Clinton-Jones is known to SRPD for several arrests involving dangerous and indecent criminal acts. Clinton-Jones is a sex offender who is currently on CDCR parole. Clinton-Jones was booked into the Marin County Jail for violating his parole terms, being a sex registrant on a school campus, and for child annoyance.

Starting just after 8:00 AM, SRPD began receiving calls of Clinton-Jones acting suspiciously in the Woodland Avenue neighborhood in San Rafael. Another call was received from school officials reporting that Clinton-Jones had followed a juvenile student onto the Davidson Middle School campus. Clinton-Jones made no physical contact with the juvenile and fled the scene when school officials approached.

SRPD immediately responded and took swift action by launching a large-scale search for Clinton-Jones to prevent any further harm to the public’s safety. The Marin County Sheriff’s Office Drone Team was also called to the area. During the incident and subsequent search, SRPD prioritized student safety and kept in constant communication with San Rafael City Schools officials.

It was known that Clinton-Jones was on parole through the California Department of Corrections (CDCR) and was ordered to wear a GPS tracking monitor. CDCR provided real-time location updates, which led to the successful capture of Clinton-Jones. Clinton Jones was arrested without incident in the 200 block of Woodland Avenue.

It was learned that Clinton-Jones had just been released from jail about 24 hours for a prior case.

In this case, officers booked Clinton-Jones into the Marin County Jail for violating his parole, being a sex offender on school grounds, and for child annoyance. Clinton-Jones is currently being held without bail due to a CDCR parole hold.

Clinton-Jones has an arrest history with SRPD. SRPD has press releases related to several arrests from 2017 to 2024, during which Clinton-Jones was arrested for similar violations. SRPD takes these incidents very seriously and understands that there is community concern for this kind of criminal behavior. Our officers and detectives will work diligently to investigate, identify, and arrest suspects who endanger the public and our schools.
