The Marin City Juneteenth Festival at Rocky Graham Park on Saturday, June 22 will be bigger and better for 2024, with an afternoon and evening of musical and spoken-word performances, great food, and booths featuring local vendors, organizations, and craftspeople. Admission to the family-friendly event is free.
In the words of event organizer Oshalla Diana Marcus, “This year we once again come together to reflect and celebrate on the day that symbolically ended more than 250 years of enslavement of Africans. We honor our ancestors’ struggles by offering a day of community celebration.”
The day will begin with a 10:30 a.m. opening ceremony. Booths will open at noon. Live performances get underway at 12:15 p.m. and continue throughout the day. Musical genres performed by local bands will include gospel, R&B, jazz, world, neo soul, and conscious hip-hop.
For children and families, there will be the park playground, a bounce house, craft activities, and face painting.
Booths will be packed up at approximately 7:00 p.m. A funk band will continue to play for an after-party until 8:00 or 9:00 p.m.
The Juneteenth Festival is produced by Marin City Arts and Culture in collaboration with the Marin City Community Services District. Financial support comes from individual donors, the County of Marin, the Marin Community Foundation, and the City of Sausalito.
Rocky Graham Park is located at 800 Drake Avenue in Marin City.
