Those big white circles

May 22, 2020 by Marin Leave a Comment

City of Pacifica

The big white circles that appeared on the lawn of Gabrielson Park on Friday, May 22 might look like a new art installation, but they are really a fun and creative way to encourage social distancing in our downtown area.

Spaced eight feet apart, the circles are 10 feet in diameter and provide a guide to creating a safe social distance between park users who want to relax on the lawn and enjoy the spectacular views of the bay.

The intention is for the circles to be used solo or shared by household members who have been sheltering in place together. Their deployment follows the lead of San Francisco and New York, where similar markings are now in place at some neighborhood parks.

Any questions about the project may be directed to Parks and Recreation Director Mike Langford at mlangford@sausalito.gov.
