Update on vegetation fire that caused evacuations

1231am Update: Forward progress slowed, approximately 10% containment of fire.

1236am Update: Evacuation Order has been downgraded to Evacuation Warning for all streets within the area. Residents may return home.

0123am Update: 25% containment. Residents may return home. Evacuation warnings/orders have been lifted

The Marin County Sheriff’s Office is assisting with evacuations related to the vegetation fire off of Atherton Ave in Novato. Currently, evacuation orders have been issued for the Oak Shade Lane and Saddle Wood Drive areas, including Morning Star Court, Trail View Court, and Dry Creek Lane in Novato. Deputies are continuing to go door to door to assist with evacuations.

A temporary gathering center has been established in the parking lot of Novato Fire District Station 62, located at 450 Atherton Ave Novato.
