The Marin County Elections Department has tabulated 99% of the vote-by-mail ballots from the November 3 General Election. Outstanding ballots include those that are still arriving by mail and were postmarked by November 3, and those waiting for voters to fix a signature problem – either missing signature or mismatched signature.
Elections Department staff is now processing 1,500 provisional ballots that were cast at the polls and require special handling to ensure voters haven’t voted twice. Tallied results can be seen on the Elections website.
Following California Elections Code §15360, Marin County’s Registrar of Voters will randomly select at least 1% of the ballots cast at the polls and by mail. The random selection of ballots will take place on Tuesday, November 17, at 9:30 a.m. in the Elections Department. The office is in Suite 121, Marin County Civic Center, 3501 Civic Center Drive, San Rafael.
The manual tally of the ballots selected will begin immediately thereafter and is a public process.
