October 20, 2023 by Marin Leave a Comment

The San Rafael Police Department reports on Facebook this crime. No names were initially revealed in the report:

“On October 17, 2023, SRPD received a call from Home Depot regarding an employee who embezzled approximately $1.2 million.

“Through Home Depot’s internal investigation into the embezzlement, they determined the suspect had been taking cash from the business since August 2022.

“The suspect admitted to taking cash from Home Depot since last year.

“The suspect had over $8,000.00 in her possession when she was arrested.

“The suspect was arrested and booked at the Marin County Jail for felony embezzlement charges.

“SRPD Detectives obtained a bail enhancement due to the large amount of cash the suspect had taken and the concern of her being a flight risk.

“SRPD Detectives obtained and served a search warrant at the suspect’s residence. A small amount of cash and a high volume of designer merchandise was located and was suspected to have been purchased with the embezzled funds.”
