3 arrested and 38 cited during Novato DUI checkpoint

On Friday, May 24, 2024, the Novato Police Department held a DUI checkpoint on De Long Ave and Redwood Blvd in Novato. DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints is to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads.

Checkpoint Results:

🚘2 Arrested for Driving Under the Influence

🚘1 Arrested for Health & Safety Violations.

🚘32 Drivers were cited for driving unlicensed.

🚘2 Drivers were cited with suspended licenses.

🚘4 Drivers were cited for other moving violations.

🚘92 Vehicles were directed to the secondary screening area.

Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the NHTSA National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
