4th of July Grand Marshalls in Sausalito: Gergus and Gallagher

June 27, 2022 by Marin Leave a Comment

Ray Gergus and Chris Gallagher have been named the grand marshals of Sausalito’s annual 4th of July Parade. Ray and Chris will be riding in classic convertibles at the head of this year’s parade, which will begin at the corner of Second and Main streets at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 4.

Chris Gallagher recently retired from her position as Park Manager of the Bay Model Visitor Center. Chris has been an integral part of our community since she began her career at the Bay Model 36 years ago, both in her official capacity with the Army Corps of Engineers and as a volunteer with numerous local organizations and City boards and commissions.

Ray Gergus is a former long-term Sausalito resident who moved to Cotati after the passing of his wife Margot in 2021. His community involvement included serving on the Sausalito-Marin City Sanitary District Board of Directors for 31 years, membership on the City of Sausalito Sustainability Commission, and acting as the event coordinator for the annual pancake breakfast fundraiser conducted by the Southern Marin Firefighter’s Association and the Lions Club.
