The construction of a large outside, low-rise platform on the Pleasant Valley Elementary School Playground has begun by community volunteers. The facility will be used  for a new educational, recreational and entertainment venue for students.

Novato Leadership Director is Kim Stahley. This is part of a 9-month educational program for existing and potential community leaders. It offers hands-on experience with learning collaboration of multiple City Commissions and Agencies for the benefit of citizen concerns. The Water District, School District, Sanitation, Police and Fire are involved in this Citizen education program. The Projects are submitted and considered for the value to the Novato community.

After Projects are submitted for consideration, the approximate 20-member Leadership Commission decides what Projects to fulfill. Money and labor are donated by individuals, local businesses and service organizations including three Novato Rotary International Clubs for the Projects.
