Again, President Biden visits the wealthy in the Bay Area; bypasses everyday people living under his policies

President Joe Biden is back in the Bay Area and we’d be remiss in not reminding everyone that it’s another fundraising trip in which the president will only rub elbows with wealthy donors. 

Last time Mr. Biden was in the area, he helicoptered into Marin, collected money from rich folk, and left. He did not visit the Canal area, where his border policy has had a profound impact, he did not walk the streets of Marin City, a strangely segregated community in Marin with high crime and a profoundly lower life expectancy from white communities just a few miles away, and he did not even come close to Novato where he might have met real, middle-class Californians struggling in this economy. 

Look, I know presidents have to collect money. But, it’s getting a little old for the president to make a rare trip out West and not at least check out what is really happening on the ground. It takes a little extra work. Perhaps some walking around, which the president says he’s 100% able and ready to do. 

So, let’s see it. Engage with normal people, Mr. President.

This is twice in recent memory that he’s visited only the wealthy in the Bay Area. It’s not a good look.
