Babe Ruth registration now open

April 12, 2021 by Marin Leave a Comment

Babe Ruth baseball will go on this summer as the Novato organization announced the opening of registration. While the league is called the “Novato Babe Ruth League,” all players from throughout Marin County participate.

Any player born prior to Sept. 1, 2008, and on or after May 1, 2005, are eligible. The league in a release to Marinscope said: “Yes, that means players who have ‘aged out’ from Little League in those gap months can play in Novato Babe Ruth and have four years of competition.”

Over the years, the Novato Babe Ruth League has featured top players from Terra Linda, San Rafael, Marin Catholic and Redwood high schools.

League President Jim Whitlock said the league will be guided by the experience of the local high schools when it comes to COViD health and safety standards.

Registration for all players closes on April 17 for the Spring 2021 season. Get registration details at novatobaberuth.org. Tryouts for all new players is Sunday, April 18, and practice begins the week of April 19. A full regular season of 15-17 games is planned, concluding July 10.
