A $3 million lawsuit surrounding a “blackface” picture posted in the Marin County District Attorney’s office has been filed against District Attorney Lori Frugoli.
Former Marin County Deputy District Attorney Cameron Jones filed the suit alleging he was fired because of the color or his skin and the picture played a part in creating a hostile work environment that resulted in his termination.
KRON-7 news reported over the weekend that “Jones’ attorneys say that after he filed a complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunity office for the county, he was fired by Frugoli. His attorneys allege that this firing was retaliatory in nature in order to prevent Jones from completing the investigation process for his discrimination claims.”
DA Frugoli issued the following statement:
“I want to make it clear to the people of Marin County that I find racism in any form to be abhorrent. I do not condone prejudice or racism on any level. I am unable to discuss the details of the pending lawsuit; however, I want to be clear that Equity and Diversity are at the core of our mission, and I intend to continue those efforts in the community.”
KRON-7 reported that “Jones’ attorney, Charles A. Bonner, is no stranger to discrimination claims. In March of 2002 he won a discrimination case against Marin County on behalf of Lonnie Morris, who was awarded $1.6 million dollars by a federal jury after bullets were placed on his desk.”
That is not blackface! I’m betting it was his costume for a party. He’s wearing ghillie that would be worn by a sniper or hunter. They would wear grease paint that is colored to better blend with their environment. Are all soldiers and hunters that employed this susceptible to such accusations of “black face.”? I hope this is a joke!
If you are seriously claiming that guy is a hunter,, then I’ve got some swampland in Florida to sell you. You’re either gullible, racist, or both. Please. Stop. And Marin is a notoriously racist county., do your research
He should not have posted anything.
