We were alerted to the social media post made by Pini Hardware about a theft at their business last week. Pini Hardware filed an online report, and we investigated possible leads. An aware community member who saw the social media post called Novato Police Dispatch on the evening of Friday (7/11) to report that he spotted the Pini Hardware theft suspect at another Novato shopping center.
Officers responded and identified Shannon Meehan, a 42-year-old transient, as the suspect. Meehan was arrested for Sonoma County warrants, possessing stolen property from Pini Hardware, and charges for the theft were referred to the Marin County District Attorney’s Office.
We are thankful for the alert community members who helped us locate a theft suspect and recover stolen property. If you see something, say something!
