Epstein News Cartels: Pin something — anything — on the political opponents

February 27, 2026 by Marin Leave a Comment

Sherman R. Frederick/Properly Subversive

A First Amendment lawyer friend of mine once likened the young Internet of the last century to Tombstone in the 1880s — be watchful of everything.

When you consider what’s become of the Internet today, just 35 years later, the Tombstone reference almost seems like a quaint tip of the hat to the good old days.

Think about the Epstein Files story. Millions upon millions of pieces of information points that can be cobbled together in a thousand different ways to achieve various ends.

In terms of finding the truth, this isn’t Tombstone in the 1880s; this is Puerto Vallarta last week — a place run by ruthless cartels seeking not to bring clarity and truth, but to pin something — anything — on their political opponents.

The latest attempt at this comes from the NYTimes and National Public Radio, both reporting that there are documents released in the Epstein files that refer to a victim making allegations to President Donald Trump raping her when she was a child in the 80s. But the backup FBI documents are “missing,” suggesting that the Trump DOJ purged them from public view.

Seriously? Trump raped a child, the FBI investigated it, and the Biden Administration missed it? C’mon, man!

One post out there in Epstein Cartel Land says that “Trump r#aped. A 13-year-old child gave birth to a newborn, they k!lled the baby and apparently disposed of the baby’s body in Lake Michigan.”

Another, from Rep. Jamie Raskin, reads: “Trump‘s name is all over these files. I saw a reference today of a 9-year-old girl.”

And still another from Nevada Democratic Sen. Jacky Rosen: Dozens of Epstein files are missing, including ones containing serious allegations by a survivor against Donald Trump. What is DOJ hiding and who are they protecting? The survivors of Epstein’s horrific crimes deserve transparency now – just like the bipartisan law we passed in Congress requires.

It’s a war zone out there when it comes to the Epstein Files. Like the tourists trapped in Puerto Vallarta last week as drug cartels sought revenge against the government for killing their leader, our advice on the Epstein story is shelter in place.

There are a lot of bad guys out there getting in the way of those who want truth and clarity.

That’s how we’re seeing it today, Friday, Feb. 27, at Properly Subversive headquarters, deep inside the Sonoran Desert, not yet controlled by the cartels — drug cartels or news cartels.

If you think we’re wrong, don’t hesitate to set us straight.
