That means three things: The evening light lingers. The kids are out of school. And Mill Valley Little Leaguers are playing All-Star baseball around Marin County.
The MVLL 9s All-Stars and 13s Intermediate (50/70) All-Stars jumped into District 3 play this past week, and things went smashingly.
The 13s play in the District 3 championship on Thursday June 24 at Alto at 530 pm while the 9s, if they won on June 22 at Boyle, would play in the District 3 championship on June 24 at 530 pm at Hamman Field in Novato.

13s INTERMEDIATE (50/70) ALL STARS
Mill Valley 6, Novato South 4 — In pool play at Alto on June 18, Lucas DiPippa electrified the crowd with a home run to deep right-center field to bolster five stellar innings of one-run ball from left-hander Scott Olinger on the mound.
Grayson Roberts went 3-for-4 and drove in two runs, and DiPippa finished with two hits, two RBIs and two runs scored to lead the offense. Cooper Mitchell rapped two hits, had an RBI and scored two runs.
Eddie Kideckel threw a shutout inning in relief to aid Mill Valley, and Colin Cann closed out a tense sixth inning by fanning the last hitter with the bases loaded.
Mill Valley 12, Novato North 2 — In pool play at Alto on June 16, Henry Pearson threw 5 innings and allowed only one earned run, and Colin Cann threw a shutout inning to nail down a win in which MV rapped out ten hits.
Grayson Roberts went 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs, and Lucas DiPippa tripled and drove in two to pace the MV offense. Luca Younger added a two-run single in the offensive outburst.
9s ALL STARS
Mill Valley 19, Tiburon Peninsula 0 — In pool play at Strawberry on June 20, Mill Valley broke out for 12 hits to finish pool play unbeaten.
Davis Marshall and Nixon Laird on a combined no-hitter over three innings, and the offense was led by Brodie Williams (two hits, two runs, three RBIs), Davis Marshall (two hits, including a triple, three runs scored, three RBIs), Hudson Wayne (two hits, two RBIs), Levi Weber (two hits) and a two-run single from Uggie Burrows. Oscar Karlen smacked a triple, and Remi Thill hit a double for Mill Valley.
Mill Valley 16, Novato South 5 — In pool play at Hamman Field on June 18, Davis Marshall went 3-for-3 with three runs scored and two RBIs, and Brodie Williams had two hits and three RBIs to lead the offense, and Rory Murphy came on in relief to escape a jam with 1 and 2/3 innings of one-run ball to lead MV. Murphy added a two-run single, and starter Charlie Davies pitched two innings of two-run ball for the winners.
Mill Valley 12, San Rafael 0 — In pool play at Glenwood Field on June 16, Davis Marshall hurled three shutout innings and fanned 7, and went 2-for-3 with two runs scored to lead Mill Valley to an opening win. Oscar Karlen doubled and drove in two to pace a 10-hit attack, and Rory Murphy pitched a shutout inning to close it out.
