Dumper: A man was seen dumping a large bean bag chair at the corner of Lansdale and Pastori Avenues. A witness saw him do it and called the police. Police contacted the dumper and told him to go back, pick up the chair and dispose of it correctly, which he did.
Tent Beef: People in an encampment on Bolinas Road could be heard arguing. One person could be heard yelling: “Get out of my tent.” Police checked it out to make sure all was well.
Odd Behavior: A man in Mass at St. Rita’s church began making odd gestures, reaching into his pockets and other things. People became worried about the safety of the congregation. Police were called. Service provided.
Yeller: A homeless man known well to police as a serial disturber of the peace, disrupted business at the Coffee Roastery on Bolinas Road. Service provided.
Off Balance: A homeless person, dressed in all black clothing, hung out near an ATM on Broadway following women and making lewd gestures. Gone when the police arrived.
SAUSALITO
Speeders: Many vehicles on June 29 were seen exceeding the 25 mph speed limit on Alexander Avenue. Police sent extra units to control the situation.
Sidewalk: A red Tesla was reported to have driven on the sidewalk by the bookstore on Bridgeway for a full minute. Gone when the police arrived.
Bar Fly: A woman became unruly at a local bar. She slapped the bartender and tried to leave with a drink in hand. The bartender prevented that. She called the cops saying she was attacked. Cops didn’t buy it.
SAN RAFAEL
Porn: On Thursday, June 29, the San Rafael Police Department Investigations Unit arrested Sean Michael Nafius, a 20-year-old resident of San Rafael, for the possession and distribution of child pornography. The SRPD Investigations Unit served a search warrant in the 100 block of Woodland Avenue in San Rafael after receiving a CyberTip from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. The CyberTip related details of a video uploaded to a Snapchat application account that was pornographic in nature and involving an obvious child. SRPD Detectives conducted follow-up and determined that the location where the video was uploaded from was a residence on Woodland Avenue in San Rafael. Accounts related to the upload belonged to Nafius. Detectives seized electronics related to the crime during the search warrant and arrested Nafius. Nafius was booked at the Marin County Jail for one felony count of possession of child pornography and one felony count of distribution of child pornography. He is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.
MILL VALLEY
Postal: A homeless man took up residence inside the post office on Blithedale and defecated in the building. The vagabond pooper was gone when police arrived.
Tree: A citizen reported that a tree was leaning on communication lines on the Redwood Highway Frontage road. Allegedly smoking. Police checked it out. It’s been like that for 10 years.
Threats: A man possibly armed with brass knuckles and pepper spray was reported in the Camino Alto area yelling racial threats and telling minority children to “get out of his town. Police responded to the situation.
Rifle: An employee of a store on Blithedale told police that a homeless man known to the store as a frequent user of the microwave was seen in the area with a rifle. Police responded and found the man in possession of a Crossman Grey/Red pellet gun. He said he bought it from a local sports store but did not have pellets on him.
Ammo: A resident of Longfellow Road found a round of ammunition in his driveway. He asked the police to come pick it up as it made him nervous just to have it around.
Burglary: The nanny of a resident of Manor Drive, who is out of town, arrived at the house and found items stolen, including jewelry and a passport. Investigation continues.
Trapped: A woman was reported locked in the public restroom of the Depot Store and having a panic attack. Doors were eventually opened.
Loud Music: A neighbor on Blithedale called the cops on another neighbor who was playing the guitar and singing with an amp. He was inside his own home. Police dropped by and determined it was not loud enough to merit action.
Complaint: A neighbor to the school on Lomita Drive came on campus and made an arse out of himself, whining about a school inspector parking in front of his house. The man went home by the time police arrived. Police told the school folk to contact them if he comes back and misbehaves.
Hit & Run: A Chevy Silverado hit a power pole on July 5. The drive sped off. A witness got the license plate, however. Police are on it.
Racial Slurs: The guy who yells racial slurs at people and sometimes chases kids was at it again on July 5 on Miller Avenue. Police are looking for the mad to do a welfare check.
Unwanted: A man who had one too many drinks entered a bar on Miller Avenue and caused trouble. Barkeep told him to scoot, but he wouldn’t. Police called and told him to get out, which he did rather than be arrested.
Mail: All kinds of mail were found strewn about on Iron Springs Road – junk mail and bills. Report taken.
