Fairfax plans to rehabilitate the redwood trees in Peri Park, as proposed by the town’s arborist Ray Moritz, above. It calls for planting 15 new redwoods in the downtown park to replace a variety of trees that have fallen or been cut down in recent years.Moritz explained that the Peri Park trees are in poor health. Many of them have heart rot, a fungal disease that causes the center of a tree to decay.
