Sausalito’s garbage services provider, Bay Cities Refuse, will hold its Fall Cleanup the week of Oct. 17 through 21.
On your usual garbage collection day that week, Bay Cities will collect up to one additional cubic yard of refuse, the equivalent of seven plastic garbage bags. All material must be placed in bags, boxes, or containers and placed at the curb by 6 a.m. Any items that may damage the packing mechanism of the trucks will not be collected.
There is no charge to dispose of the additional refuse on your cleanup day. Larger items such as furniture can be scheduled for removal at extra cost by calling Bay Cities Refuse at 415-332-3646.
All material from the extra garbage pickup will be taken to landfill. As always, place recyclable materials in your blue bin and green waste (yard and food waste) in your green bin or in reusable 30-gallon paper bags. There is never a limit to how much yard waste you may place at the curbside. Reusable items should be donated to Goodwill or the Salvation Army.
Hazardous materials such as computer monitors or printers, paint, motor oil, household batteries, and microwaves can be taken to the Marin Household Hazardous Waste Facility at 565 Jacoby Street in San Rafael.
