The Marin County Department of Public Works will host a community workshop to share information and gather feedback on bicycle and pedestrian access improvements being considered along East Sir Francis Drake Boulevard, the key corridor connecting Larkspur and San Rafael and connecting Marin with the East Bay via the San Rafael-Richmond Bridge.
The workshop will follow a Rails-to-Trails walk and talk scheduled for Wednesday, January 28. The Rails-to-Trails team will discuss closing significant gaps in the San Francisco Bay Trail with an emphasis on closing the East Sir Francis Drake Boulevard Bay Trail Gap.
The County invites residents, especially people who walk, bike, or roll through the East Sir Francis Drake Boulevard corridor, to attend the public workshop on Thursday, January 29, from 6 to 8 PM, at the Drakes Landing Community Room, located at 300 Drakes Landing Road in Greenbrae.
Attendees will learn about the access challenges along this corridor, including the gap in walking and biking connections. The presentation will cover near-term quick build pedestrian and bicycle enhancements currently being designed with a focus on requesting input on longer-term improvements.
County staff will share an overview of the projects, outline constraints and considerations on potential path locations, and describe potential options. The meeting will include a presentation, discussion, maps and conceptual information to help participants understand proposed path alignments and how they might enhance the roadway for users of all ages and abilities on East Sir Francis Drake Boulevard.
