Alleged fentanyl dealer faces murder charges

Opening arguments for a case against Carson David Schewe (Case # 62-183963) regarding the Placer County’s first fentanyl murder case goes to a jury trial next week.

The trial will take in Placer County Superior Court, Department 3 in Auburn

Placer County District Attorney’s Office filed a criminal complaint against Carson David Schewe for charges of murder and possession of a controlled substance for sale, as it related to a local fentanyl-related death. 

Fentanyl overdoses and deaths remain high in the Bay Area and Marin County.
