Fentanyl levels spike in Marin’s wastewater

Marin County issued a Public Health Advisory last week in response to an increase in non-fatal opioid overdoses in late September that followed a spike in fentanyl levels in wastewater. Wastewater levels correlate with fentanyl use at the community level. During intervals of increased risk, it’s especially important to avoid pills not prescribed to you, carry Narcan, not use substances alone, and test any drugs for fentanyl before using.
