
On Sunday, July 13, just after 8 p.m., Novato PD responded to Fourth Street regarding a disturbance call.
Patrol officers located a 16 year-old victim who was approached by a group of 10 masked juveniles. The group attempted to rob the victim of his personal belongings while yelling gang-related threats. The suspects fled the area before they were able to steal anything. The victim sustained minor injuries and was released at the scene.
NPD Detectives and the School Resource Officer identified the primary suspect as a 16-year-old Novato Resident, who was also on Marin County Juvenile Probation. The investigation also revealed this incident was gang-motivated.
On July 15, Patrol Officers and Detectives responded to the suspect’s residence and arrested him. Evidence of the attempted robbery was located during a probation search of the suspect’s house. The suspect was remanded into the custody of Marin County Juvenile Hall for robbery, participating in a street gang, and violating his probation terms.
