Gas-powered tools banned in San Anselmo

November 21, 2022 by Marin Leave a Comment

Gas-powered chainsaws like this one will be banned in San Anselmo in 2023.

First, they came for gas-powered leaf blowers. Now string trimmers, edgers, chainsaws, and lawnmowers are on the chopping block in San Anselmo.

The Town Council members expanded the town’s ban on gas-power tools. They also set up a taxpayer-funded rebate program allowing residents to turn in their gas-powered devices and get cash for electric tools. For regular citizens, the change takes place in June 2023. For commercial businesses, the change takes place in June 2024.

The move is being made to stop climate change and, thus, save the planet.
