
George William Gasperoni was born March 25, 1928, to Giovanni and Irma; who came here from Tereglio Lucca, Italy, in the early 1900s.
In youth, he loved to fish and hunt, and later played basketball for Susanville High.
He met and married Joyce Bond, before serving in the army in Korea as a translator and cook. Joyce gave birth to their son Tony in 1951, then they moved to Novato, where George used his meat cutting skills, in the beginning of a long career with Safeway.
He then started a new chapter, when he met and married Honey; mother of Claudia, Karen, and Tony. He accepted a transfer to Hawaii, where Gina, was born. After 3 years, they returned to Novato, and settled into many years of enjoyment of family and friends; in his beloved home at Brooke Farm.
He continued to fish, golf, travel, and entertain. He served his community through Rotary.
His family was blessed by his humility, integrity, good humor, and strength of character. He passed peacefully at home, at the age of 92; with his family by his side; on September 17th, 2020. He is survived by his 5 children, 11 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren.
