Girl, 4, drowns at Point Reyes

November 28, 2020 by Marin Leave a Comment

On Thanksgiving a 4-year-old girl drowned after a wave swept her into the ocean at Point Reyes National Seashore, the National Park Service reported.

Emergency helicopters from CHP and the Coast Guard worked to rescue the girl. She was  taken to Oakland Children’s Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The child’s father, the Park Service said, went into the water to try to save her. He was taken to Petaluma Regional Hospital to be treated for hypothermia.

The child hasn’t been identified at press time.
