Well, Ick: A “suspicious” character (which means homeless in cop log lingo) took a dump in a carport on Locust Street. Did not wash his hands. Did not wear a mask.
No Mask No Service: A man who refuses to wear a mask and who frequents a store on Caledonia Street showed up again and got into a big argument with the store management. Police rolled and mediated the situation. The owner of the store refused to serve the maskless man and he was banished from the fine establishment.
Stray Woman: The homeless woman who hangs out like a stray cat at Gate 5 Road was back. Police responded and shooed her along.
Burglary: A citizen reported his home on Booker Avenue was burglarized.
Screamer: A slender man with long brown hair held a can of beer and screamed his head off in a parking lot on Bridgeway. He was verbally aggressive with customers and staff at a restaurant there. Police rolled but the angry man was gone when they got there.
Hello There: A man came home to his boat docked on Liberty Ship Way to find a strange woman on board. He did not know her and asked her to leave. She left and took his backpack with her. She wore purple pants and was not seen again.
Bad Behavior: A bartender on Bridgeway was reported to be serving drinks without a mask. He also was joking about COVID-19.
School Door: The door at a school on Nevada Street had been taped so that it didn’t lock. The room contained school computers. Police stood by as inventory was taken.
Stolen Boat: A citizen reported his Carolina skip with a 45 Yamaha motor was taken by an anchor-out. It was later found tied to a boat in another marina. It was returned to the rightful owner.
Homeless Encampment: A homeless person was again called into police for camping out on Bridgeway. Police talked with the man, moved him along, and gave him some advice on what to do in the future.
Welfare Check: A concerned citizen called police about a man laying on his back on Harrison Avenue. Police rolled. He was drunk. A sober friend was found to aid the man.
Novato
Vandalism: On the July 27 shift, a citizen reported vandalism/graffiti on Kelly Drive. Other items on the cop log this shift include: Drunk driving on Redwood Boulevard, public drunkenness on Simmons Lane, fireworks on Simmons Lane and a stolen vehicle on Hutchins Way.
Sex Crime: On the July 28th shift, a sex crime was reported on Center Road. Also, police responded to a shoplifting case on Redwood Boulevard, a suspicious person on Manuel Drive, a welfare check on Eagle Drive, an aggravated assault on Green Oak Drive and a family disturbance on Trumbull Avenue.
Domestic Violence: A call to a domestic violence report on Ignacio was one of several calls made to the Novato Police on the July 29 shift. Also, police took calls of a suspicious vehicle on Clausing Avenue, and unwanted person on Enfrente Road, reckless driving on Vintage Way, a family disturbance on Novato Boulevard, an assault on Leafwood Drive and drunk driving on Mariner Way.
