Winterfest, the 94941’s annual holiday celebration, returned on Dec. 3 and it was an absolute blockbuster with more than 1,000 people gathering on the plaza for an evening of good cheer, including performances from the Tam High Holiday Ensemble, Happy Feet tap dancers, Singers Marin, Marin Girls Chorus, all capped off with a visit from the one and only Santa Claus, some fantastic words from Rabbi Hillel Scop from Chabad Mill Valley, all capped off with from the one and only Santa Claus and some remarks from Mill Valley Mayor Urban Carmel and his official Tree Lighting countdown.
It was a remarkable evening, capturing the holiday season with a showcase of some of Mill Valley’s multi-talented performers across a broad swath, from the youngest children participating in carols with Singers Marin to holiday songs from the Tam High Ensemble.
And the cheer is far from finished. Mill Valley will revisit the holiday spirit again on Sunday, Dec. 17 from 12-4 p.m. at the Community Center.
There will be another lineup of great performances – including the one and only Millbillies, Sweaty Baby, Marin Conservatory of Dance, Rock the Ages, Ellie McKee and Roco Dance & Fitness, as well as a bunch of great children’s games and activities like the huge slide, a jumpy house, cornhole and an array of additional activities, both inside and outside at the Community Center.
