Homeless spending called ‘disjointed’ by auditor

A state auditor has found that California’s spending to fix homelessness is “disjointed,” while the state’s homeless population is the largest in the nation. 

The office of State Auditor Elaine Howle said California has spent $13 billion in the last three years to tackle a massive homelessness. The auditor found that California’s spending on homelessness is so “fragmented and incomplete” that the state government actually hinders efforts to get people into stable housing.
