Longtime Marin elected official Judy Arnold has announced that she will not seek re-election to the Marin County Board of Supervisors.
Here is her announcement:
For much of my adult life, I have had the privilege of serving the beautiful County of Marin as well as the spectacular City of Novato. Over the years, I have watched our community grow economically while evolving with the times to become a leader on key issues affecting our nation.
There are many occupations in this world though none quite as rewarding as serving one’s community. It’s an honor that passes from one person to another, from one generation to the next. Today, I am announcing that I will not be seeking re-election in 2022 so that this honor may too be passed on to the next.
It has been an extraordinary year with unprecedented events, and the next several months are a critical time for us. Our Board is committed to economic re-stabilization while continuing to keep our community safe. I look forward to my ongoing work on important issues such as jobs, climate resilience, and justice for all.
I wish to give the people of the fifth district ample time to closely evaluate and get to know each candidate running for this important position.
We will be facing many issues in the coming years and I plan to be active in helping this County and this State face those challenges. I look forward to seeing what the next phase brings.
In the meantime, you know where to find me.
With gratitude,
Judy Arnold
