Novato High School wrestler Kekoa Madayaghe came back from the state competition last week with a 7th place finish. While Marin has historically had success in the state competition, there’s been a drought of late.
Madayaghe is the first Marin high-schooler to medal in some eight years.
The junior wrestled in the 106-pound class and went 4-2 at state.
Novato coach Rafael Ayala said was thrilled by the performance and was looking forward to what Madayaghe will do in his senior year.
