Michael G. Grossman, a 46-year-old Petaluma man, was killed on his motorcycle as he attempted to split lanes on the 101 in Novato.
The California Highway Patrol said the fatal accident happened at 6:35 a.m. Grossman was reportedly splitting lanes when traffic slowed down suddenly and he hit the back of a van, then a truck.
He was dead on the scene.
