LaRae June Duncan

On Thursday, May 4th, LaRae June Duncan, 59, was received at the Pearly Gates by her three dogs, Ewok, Max, and Peanut, who licked her face with joy. She was then greeted by her father, Tom, her mother Elouise, her brother LeRoy, her sister Patty, her sister DeeDee, and her grandparents and some aunts and uncles. LaRae leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband John, sister Marie, brother Jeff, and sister Debbie, and some nieces and nephews.

LaRae was born in Novato in 1963 and graduated from Novato High in 1981. She attended one year at Indian Valley College, but was needed as a Manager of the Novato dry-cleaning outlet store owned by her parents. In 1987, she met the love of her life and in 1991, they were married.

Through their 36 years together, LaRae enjoyed several rewarding careers, including clerical work, and multiple levels in banking. For a time, she enjoyed the networking and meeting of new people that door-to-door sales brought to her life. Of her most fruitful occupations, one was being a manicurist/pedicurist, and she was licensed to do so in two states. The other, which she was doing until March, was being a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Continuing her drive to help people with more than just their nails, LaRae worked as an in-home caregiver of the disabled and the elderly, and specialized in those with dementia, Alzheimer’s, and hospice.

LaRae lost her life to Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, and her final wishes for no funeral, grave, or service will be honored. Memorials in her name to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, www.LLS.org, 3 International Dr., Ste. 200, Rye Brook NY 10573, (800) 955-4572 will be appreciated.
