Laura Arth

Laura Van Horn Arth, a long time member of the Marin County community, passed away peacefully on Feb. 27, 2023, at the age of 64. Laura was born on March 30, 1958 in Grosse Pointe, Michigan to Virginia and John Edward Van Horn.

She moved to California when she was 21 years old, attending gemology school, where she pursued her passion in business and diamonds, eventually starting her own successful diamond company, Arth & Co.

Laura thrived as a business woman, a natural people person with her warm and outgoing personality, lighting up every room she walked into. Known for her contagious smile and laughter, she was the light of the party, always bringing positive energy.

A loving mother, sister, and aunt, she will be greatly missed by all those who loved her. She is survived by her daughter, Sydney Arth. A private celebration of life will be held.

She was a kind and generous woman who loved life and those in her life. She was the youngest of 7 children and always captured the dinner table fun! She will be greatly missed. I will treasure my memories of my baby sister forever. She’s joining other siblings and my beloved Art. Rest in peace. Love you, mother Mary

This is such sad news. Laura brought brightness and energy to the world. She was kind, loving, and zest for life! Laura was a good friend in her early days in Los Angles and we shared many memorable times together. I am so sorry, Sydney, for your loss..
