Less than half of eligible Marin voters cast a vote in the primary

July 4, 2022 by Marin Leave a Comment

It took three full weeks, but the final vote tally is now in. The Marin County Registrar of Voters posted the results last Friday (July 1) for the June 7 primary election.

While all of the 170,811 registered voters were mailed a ballot, just less than half of them returned a ballot.  That’s down from the last primary election in 2018 in which there was a 56% turnout in Marin.

That’s substantially more participation than California as whole where current counting has turnout at only 33%.
