Dear editor,
The homeless living in Lee Gerner Park in Novato has been a problem needing a solution for many months.
The City of Novato in collaboration with Homeward Bound of Marin have proposed a comprehensive program that includes housing, health services, job training and the prospect of a job for most of these individuals. This program comes from two organizations that have partnered for many years to provide support services and housing opportunities for those in need.
It is unfortunate and short sighted that the homeless chose to file a lawsuit resulting in a federal court order that has put the implementation of this program on hold. (TRO issued in Lee Gerner Park brouhaha, MARINSCOPE Week of July 21, 2021.) I hope the court will decide this program is a great solution to move the homeless toward new opportunities.

Jeanne is absolutely correct!! I feel the two main people who are pushing their own agenda are actually hurting the other people in the camp by blocking them from getting these much-needed services. I think the City of Novato has been more than generous in putting together this package that no other city in Marin County is done.

No, you are short sighted. If you were not then a number of wise judges would have sided with you. They didn’t. They sided with the homeless. Thus proving that they are the wise ones; that is why they made it to the position of Judge and you did not. Now please listen to them, they are wise judges.
