Manuel A.Rivera
March 15, 1959 – June 3 2023
Manuel was a long time resident of San Rafael. He worked as the most wonderful tree surgeon, gardener, property manager and ranch hand here and in Mendocino county.
Born In El Salvador. Manuel made his way to Northern California to join his sisters in the Bay Area.
Whilst taking English speaking classes, the instructor took note of this affable kind student and invited him to learn ranch work at a wonderful family ranch in Mendocino county. Manuel worked with the Lee Family at Old Chatham Ranch and became part of the family that cared so much for him.
Manuel also worked locally for a wonderful couple in Sausalito for over 40 years. Again, he was treasured like a family member and likewise he was devoted and loved Saga and Fred Perry to his core.
After treatment for Leukemia, and at the age of 58, Manuel was very surprised to learn he was to become a first time father. His daughter, Virginia, named for his Mother, was born Jan. 1, 2017. Nicknamed Vivi, a very special and adoring relationship developed.
He worked six days a week, only taking Sunday off. This was the day his ex wife permitted him to visit Vivi. He would drive from Marin down to San Mateo and pick up Vivi to go on many local outings.
Manuel was known for being kind, gentle, always helpful, and very likable. He will be very missed by his large family in El Salvador, whom he visited often. He will also be very missed by his close friends and family members here.
As requested, he was buried in the family plot in El Salvador.
