The Sausalito Police Department issue the following alert:
The Sausalito Police Department is investigating the stabbing of a man who is now
hospitalized in stable condition. The suspect who stabbed him later took her own life.
On April 6, at 9:13 p.m., Sausalito Police officers responded to the unit block of Cable
Roadway regarding a stabbing. Upon arrival, Officers found a 53-year-old man with
multiple stab wounds and immediately rendered aid with the assistance of Southern
Marin Fire Department personnel (SMFD). The victim was taken to a local hospital for
treatment and is currently in stable condition.
Officers learned the suspect, 22-year-old Emily Fuhrman, fled the scene prior to officers
arriving on scene. Officers and Deputies from the Sausalito Police Department, Mill
Valley Police Department, and Marin County Sheriff’s Office searched for the suspect
throughout the night and early morning of 4/7/24 but were unsuccessful in locating
Fuhrman.
At approximately 1353 hours, Sausalito Police officers were called to the unit block of
Glenn Drive where they found a woman on a staircase to a residence in a secluded
area. Evidence on the scene indicated the woman had taken her own life.
The Marin County Coroner was requested to the scene and identified the deceased,
Emily Fuhrman. She was confirmed as the suspect in the stabbing incident.
The suspect knew the victim as a family acquaintance. The motive and circumstances
surrounding the stabbing are under investigation. All parties involved in this incident are
accounted for. There are no public safety concerns related to this incident.
