Marin 911: A homeless troll lives in the bushes outside the Mill Valley post office and he’s just one of many misbehaving

MILL VALLEY

Homeless Troll: A homeless man with suspected severe mental issues lives in the bushes near the Mill Valley post office. He is well known to police for popping out periodically to scream profanities at people. After receiving complaints for the umteenth time, police contacted him and found him “acting his usual self.” He committed no crime in front of officers. So, they again asked him to please, please, pretty-please stop it.

Pooper: A woman walked down Throckmorton periodically screaming wild noises and pulling down her pants. Eventually, she took a big outdoor poop on the sidewalk, much to the dislike of coffee drinkers in downtown Mill Valley. Observers reported the act to police and said she may be having a mental breakdown. Just a theory, though.

Sketchy Person: A sketchy person was reported wandering around the baseball field on Lomita Drive. At one point it looked like he tried to set a trash can on fire. Police contacted the wanderer and asked him what the hell he was doing. He told police that all he wanted was a way out of Mill Valley. Directions provided.

Dirty Girl: A woman known to walk around downtown Mill Valley yelling and screaming socially unacceptable thoughts was reported at it again on Oct. 7. Police made contact and found her to be in her usual “rambling” and “nonsensical” state of being. No crime, but disturbing to those in her path.

Dirty Girl II: Same woman as above was reported standing in front of a business yelling “I want to get a gun and kill everybody.” Nothing was done because no crime was deemed to have been committed.

Only At Night: A man known to come out at night to yell at the moon was at it again on Oct. 7. Person reporting the issue asked police about “possible resources” for this howler going forward.

Doesn’t Belong: A man with a black beard peering in cars and pacing to and fro gave a citizen an uneasy feeling that “he doesn’t belong here.” Police checked out the man and moved him along.

Disturbed: A man yelled “disturbing” profanities on Miller Avenue. Police checked him out to make sure he wasn’t a danger to himself or others. Moved him along.

Punks: A gang of kids on e-bikes terrorized a convenience store on Oct. 6. They drove the bikes inside the story, stole stuff and fled. Police investigating and questioning witnesses in hopes of getting justice for the store.

Nanny Assault: A man on Throckmorton Avenue reported that his neighbor tried to assault his nanny. There is a long dispute with the neighbors and a TRO has been issued between.

Harassment: A suspicious man having a possible mental episode harassed people at the Mill Valley Film Festival.

NOVATO

Fire: On Thursday, Oct. 13, at just before midnight, Novato Police Officers, along with personnel from the Novato Fire Protection District, responded to the report of a fire at the Pioneer Park playground structure.  Upon arrival, officers found parts of a playground structure and building materials burning.  The fire was quickly extinguished before more damage could be done.

The Novato Police Department Investigations Unit – along with the Novato Response Team – are working closely with the Novato Fire District and Marin County Fire Investigation Team to determine the cause of the fire and locate the person or persons responsible for this act.  Although the cause of the fire has yet to be determined, it’s believed it was intentionally set as it is highly unusual for a fire of this type to start without an ignition source.

The damage to the site includes impacts to the City’s highly anticipated renovation of the Pioneer Park playground improvement project. Construction began last month and the playground was slated to reopen to the community in November. The new, accessible play structure – the first in Marin – was designed to include ramps and platforms to provide improved access to individuals with mobility limitations in addition to a variety of other play amenities. This project initially began in 2019 after the City received a Grant through the California Park and Recreation Society (CPRS), PlayCore and GameTime funding initiative for outdoor play and recreation spaces. After delays caused by the COVID-19 Pandemic, City Staff and the families in the adaptive needs community were thrilled to see this project come to life this fall. The impacts to the construction timeline and playground re-opening due to this incident are still being evaluated. The City will continue to share updates with the community including the playground’s status and an anticipated re-opening date.

The Novato Police Department is asking for the community’s help to identify the person or persons responsible for the crime.  If you have any additional information related to this fire, or suspicious activity in the park around the time of the fire including any video surveillance, please call the Novato Police Department at 415-897-4361. Officers will be conducting additional patrols in the area while this crime is being investigated.

These homeless trolls need to return to whatever Latin American country they came from! They are ruining our beautiful county, state, and country, stealing our jobs, and intermingling with our women!
