Not DUI, Just Old: A citizen called in a potential DUI. Driver was “large” with a hoodie and wearing white shoes with red laces. Allegedly driving drunkenly all over the place in the Pearl Road area. Police stopped the car. Driver determined to not be drunk. Just old.
Too Early: Police received a complaint about power tools being used on Valley Circle before 8 a.m. Police talked with the construction crew.
Sleeper: A woman sleeping in a Mercedes car in a parking lot on Blithedale Avenue has caused problems in the area. The woman refused to speak to officers. Mobile crisis called.
Leaf Blower: A leaf blower was heard on Throckmorton Avenue. Gone on arrival.
Mask Fight: Two men got in a fight on Marsh Drive over one of them not wearing a mask.
Yeller: A woman on Blithedale walked to and fro between stores yelling at nobody in particular. Police contacted the woman for a welfare check. But she was not committing a crime and did not want assistance, she yelled.
Craig’s List: A resident had his bike stolen and subsequently found it listed for sale on Craig’s List. Police asked to assist.
Unfair Competition: A gallery owner on Throckmorton called police about a street artist selling art near the store. Told police this should not be allowed.
Sausalito
Nov. 17 – 18, 2020
Sleeping Beauties: On Thursday, November 12, 2020, at approximately 2:33 a.m., Sausalito Police Sergeant Steve Veveiros was on routine patrol and located a suspicious vehicle parked in the area of Stanford Way and Olima Street. The vehicle was a 2003 Volvo hatchback that had three people sleeping inside it. Upon closer inspection, it was determined that the Volvo’s registration had expired in January 2020. As Sergeant Veveiros approached the Volvo, he observed tools commonly used to commit automobile burglaries and steal catalytic converters in plain sight through the back window of the Volvo. Inside the vehicle, Officers contacted Mariano Rincon-Saavedra (37-year-old resident of San Rafael), Mario Arvizu (29-year-old resident of San Rafael), and Juliana Diaz-Rivera (21-year-old resident of Novato).
Through further investigation, Officers were able to determine that Rincon-Saavedra was responsible for the burglary tools located in the Volvo. Arvizu and Diaz-Rivera were found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine and narcotics paraphernalia. Rincon-Saavedra was arrested for possession of burglary tools. Arvizu and Diaz-Rivera were arrested for possession methamphetamine and possession of narcotics paraphernalia. All subjects were issued citations for their misdemeanor crimes and were released from the scene pending criminal charges. The Volvo was impounded for having expired registration in excess of six (6) months.
Ring: A resident of Cloud View Road has twice captured suspicious lights on her Ring security thingy. Packages have been stolen in the area. Wanted police to know.
Dirty Blond: A man with dirty blond hair and skinny jeans approached a man and woman in their car on Liberty Ship Way and talked dirty to them. He left the scene.
